Employee Relations committee

  • Advertise for lifeguards
  • Distribute application forms to candidates for lifeguard positions
  • Hire lifeguards and water safety instructors
  • Act as liaison between Province Line Swim Club Board and lifeguards
  • Review Lifeguard Duties and Responsibilities with new and old lifeguards.  Give them a copy of these guidelines and keep a copy available at the pool for them.  Also give them a membership list.
  • Inform the lifeguard of the pool lock combination
  • Mail out and post schedule of lifeguards
  • Introduce lifeguards - a letter to the Board of Trustees is sufficient
  • Set up a sign-in sheet or notebook for the lifeguards and go over their hours with the treasurer
  • Establish swim lesson schedule, type and photocopy it and submit the copies to the corresponding secretary to be included in the spring mailing.
  • Supervise lifeguards at their duties and have any needed discussions with them
  • Arrange for any materials that the lifeguards may need, e.g. prize ribbons, pool toys, first aid kit supplies, etc.
  • Supervise pool keeper if one is hired as to his/her responsibilities:
  • Clean and vacuum pool
    • Keep liner clean above water line
    • Scrub under lip of baby pool
    • Do any other work assigned by employee relations committee
    • Maintain a notebook on what was done, when, and expenses
  • Submit a detailed budget to the treasurer prior to the spring membership meeting
